Presenter Mode Guide
Turn a TV at your event into a live photo slideshow, seating chart finder, or welcome screen with countdown and venue QR — all controlled from your phone
What it does
Presenter Mode turns any TV or large monitor at your event into a live display you control from your phone. Three modes share the same screen and you switch between them with a tap:
- Photos — a fullscreen slideshow of the booth shots and guest uploads, freshest one heroed
- Seating — the seating chart auto-fit to the screen so guests find their table on their own
- Info — event title, blurred cover photo, live countdown, venue QR for Google Maps directions
It runs in any browser, keeps the screen awake, and goes fullscreen on first tap. No app to install, no AirPlay required.
When to use each mode
Photo Booth Mode — wedding photo booth corner, party photo wall, anywhere people are already taking pictures. The latest upload heroes for a few seconds, then folds into the rotation. Works automatically with any photo booth that integrates with Brunchie (e.g. Lumabooth) and with anything guests upload from their phones. Private "hosts-only" posts never appear on screen, so back-of-house chatter stays back of house.
Seating Chart Mode — arrival, check-in, cocktail hour. Throw the chart up on a screen near the entrance and people find their table without asking. It updates live if a host reassigns someone — useful when the band's manager shows up with a plus-one and you reshuffle table 6 mid-arrival.
Event Info Mode — pre-event welcome, lobby display, "what time does this start" answer for the lost guest. Live countdown until the start time (then "Happening now" once it begins), venue location with a scannable QR for directions, your event title front and center on the cover-photo backdrop.
How to start it
- On your hangout page, tap Present on TV. This opens the remote-control page on your phone.
- Get Brunchie loaded on the TV — either type the kiosk URL into the TV's browser directly, or scan the QR shown on your remote page with the TV's browser. (Most smart TVs have a built-in browser; for older TVs, plug a laptop in or use a streaming stick that has one.)
- Pick a mode (Photos / Seating / Info). The TV swaps instantly — no reload needed.
- Tap any mode on your phone at any time during the event. Guests at the screen don't notice anything except the content changing.
Who can launch it
Hosts, cohosts, and external cohosts. Add your photographer or venue coordinator as a cohost if you want them to be able to flip the screen during the event.
Tips
- Pick the screen orientation that matches your space — landscape works on every TV and matches what Presenter Mode is designed for. Portrait isn't supported yet.
- Test the QR + kiosk URL the day before. It saves the "is this thing on" moment when guests are showing up.
- Hosts-only posts stay private in Photo Mode. Use them freely for vendor coordination notes that you don't want on the wall.
- Battery on the kiosk device matters. The page keeps the screen awake but plug your laptop or streaming stick in for the duration.
